ARK Connect Updates - Voting

We are happy to announce our latest release of the ARK Connect, which brings voting for delegates natively inside the extension. This marks a big milestone in making ARK Connect a versatile day-to-day hot wallet and Web3 identity extension within the ARK Ecosystem.

ARK Connect’s feature set just got bigger. With already integrated native support for seeing the latest transactions and transaction details, sending, and receiving ARK, we’ve added voting to include one of the more used transaction types in ARK Connect.

In order to enjoy the new features, either update or install (if you don’t have it yet) the extension for your browser:

The complete changelog for this release can be found on GitHub

The voting feature is available by pressing the 3-dot menu in the right corner of the navigation bar.

By pressing ‘Vote’ you will open up the voting page from where you can vote for a delegate. Depending on what you want to do, 3 different scenarios are possible and the button will show the action (Vote, Unvote, Vote Swap):

  • Vote - If the address is not voting for a delegate yet, selecting anyone will give you an option to Vote.
  • Unvote - Pressing on the currently voted delegate will unselect it and the action for Unvote will unlock.
  • Vote Swap - If the user is already voting for a delegate, they can swap their vote to another delegate by selecting a new delegate. This will unlock the Swap Vote function.

Users can also edit fees for the voting transaction by pressing ‘Edit Fee’, which expands into a customization field where you can select from predefined settings or switch to fully manual mode to input a custom fee.

Once ready to broadcast the transaction, pressing the action button will show the approval screen where you can ‘Approve’ and broadcast the transaction to the network or ‘Deny’ if you want to cancel the action, returning to the portfolio page.

What’s Next?

ARK Connect has just finished one of the last bigger milestones we had feature-wise and we feel that for the time being we won’t be adding any major features, but we’ll still keep polishing based on feedback and fixing any issues that get reported.

Next on our development roadmap is making ARK Connect compatible with the Mainsail codebase. This will ensure it is future-proof and ready for testing in the near future.

How Can I Help?

We encourage you to update or install ARK Connect by visiting the Chrome App Store or the Firefox Add-Ons and thoroughly test all the new functionalities added in this release.

Should you encounter any issues during testing, please report them by opening an issue on GitHub .

We extend our gratitude to everyone who continues to provide valuable feedback and report any issues encountered while using ARK Connect.
