The current version of the ARK One-Click Deployer (now rebranded to, simply, ‘Deployer’ ) has gone through multiple changes over the last year and is unrecognizable from its predecessor. Our goal with Deployer is to make launching your own blockchain as simple as possible. Let’s take a look at how far Deployer has come and why we feel that this product sets a new industry standard for creating a blockchain.
Customization
One of the most important aspects when deciding to create your blockchain is the ability to tailor it to your needs. With Deployer, there are over 35 different customizable fields that allow for thousands of different blockchain combinations while being able to take advantage of all of the features within ARK’s Blockchain Framework. When you begin customizing your blockchain, you will see that you can do things such as:
- Create a name, ticker, and symbol for your blockchain
- Choose your Block Times
- Configure Forging Rewards and Milestones
- Select the Number of Delegates
- Set Custom Transaction Fees
- More, way more!
Launching a blockchain-based on ARK’s Blockchain Framework comes with a host of benefits. For one, you are in control of your own sovereign blockchain. You are not beholden to another project’s decisions and how those decisions impact your own project or business. Secondly, scalability issues and network congestion along with high transaction fees are non-existent. Lastly, you can take advantage of the wide variety of features in ARK’s Blockchain Framework such as our Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus, dynamic fees, compatibility with the ARK Desktop and Mobile Wallet, as well as your own custom block explorer. In addition, blockchains launched on the Deployer can be seamlessly integrated with MarketSquare . Once you decide how you want your blockchain to function, you can move on to deployment, which is an even simpler task.
Deploying Your Blockchain
When it comes to deploying your blockchain all you need to do is select which server provider you want for your project and which source provider will host your project’s source code. At launch, Deployer will support Digital Ocean and Hetzner deployments, with a lot more to come after release. In terms of source providers, Deployer will let you choose between GitHub and later on GitLab, and Bitbucket.
Once that is out of the way, all you need to do is sit back and hit deploy. The entire process is fully automated. Deployer can set up your Genesis Nodes, Seed Nodes, Relays and Block Explorer all by itself. The entire process takes less than an hour.
Once your blockchain is up and running all that is left is for you to start building!
Managing Your New Blockchain
Launching your blockchain is only the beginning. You are now part of an ecosystem of passionate developers, exciting new projects and innovative ideas. Deployer features a team management system that makes managing your blockchain simple. You can invite team members, set permissions and manage your nodes in one place. Every team member you invite can be given a set of permissions that you choose in order to add an extra layer of control and security.
With the enabled permissions, team members can do things such as deploy new servers, manage and update existing servers, or configure an entirely new blockchain project from within the Deployer. All of these features are here for your convenience and streamline the entire process.
Launching Your First Blockchain
When I was asked to be part of the internal testing group for Deployer, I was a bit surprised. I am not a programmer in the slightest. Yet, using Deployer was not only intuitive but incredibly simple. The user interface takes you from one section to another with ease. I did not need to look at the documentation or ask questions. I customized my own chain and within the hour my initial servers were online.
I know that reading about something as opposed to participating in it are two completely different things. But, if I can describe Deployer in a few short words it is this — Deployer allows you to launch a blockchain in a simple way and it feels that it belongs to you. It feels that way because it does belong to you. By the end of the process, I had my own blockchain, something I didn’t think I would be able to do this easily. It is for all these reasons and more that we cannot wait to share Deployer with you in the next few months.
